On Ally's birthday we went to go get our nails done. I think Ally had a good time.

It was a first day to go to young women but she didn't have much fun because all they did was look at pictures.

We were lucky enough to have the grandchildren come to visit us twice during the summer for a week at a time. One nice summer day they went to the park with the Johansen girls, Mackenzie and Aubrey.

Summer activities

In July the girls were able to come visit us for a few weeks. We had a lot of fun. We went to see the play "Peter Pan" that was put on by a local theater group. Sydney Bergen (Jordan's friend) played Peter Pan. The show was great.

Irene fell asleep at Shoshone Falls one Sunday afternoon. Ron and Irene came to visit to attend the temple open house.
Jordan had her wisdom teeth out in Aug. She did well and as you can see Ally stayed with her to make sure she didn't need anything. Ally is always being the "mommy"

I signed Ally up for the ropes coarse at CSI. It is to help people learn to trust others and to gain self confidence. I just thought she might have fun doing the zip line since she couldn't do it in Alaska with Russ and Jordan. She seemed to have had a good time.

So we went to Alaska for about two weeks in June. It was awesome. It was much cooler there than it has been here. We had a lot of fun!!! My dad and I went ziplining, while my Mom, sister, and Grandma went on a crab boat. We did a train ride from Whittier to Denali. They told us that it would be about 9 hours, it was 11 1/2 hours!!! We all excited to come home and sleep in our own beds. Those splashes in the water are dolphins, and yes there are dolphins in Alaska.

Russ, Diane, Jordan, Allyson, and Grandma Taylor are currently on their way to an Alaskan Cruise (party animals)! They left today and will be back on July 3, 2008. As you can tell, all us other Taylor's are at home so I'm able to post this message on their blog (bummer). We will be waiting for all the pictures from the trip. Have fun!!!

Daisy loved to take Laci where she wanted her to go.

Laci and Daisy played well for the most part. They did get into fights just like siblings do and had to be seperated. We found out that Lace doesn't share very well. She would take Daisy's toys away from her and the put them in a pile with her toys. Sometimes if Daisy was on her cable Laci would place Daisy's toy about an inch out of her reach. I thought I was raising her better.

Laci and Daisy got into some pitch at the cabin along with lots and lots of dirt, leaves and pine needles. The dogs didn't appreciate getting wet.

We went to visit Ron,Irene, and Daisy the last week of May and we went for a 4 wheeler ride.

We spent Memorial weekend at Brenden and Lorie's. It rained all weekend, but it was a lot of fun. Laci wanted to play with Rox but Rox is to small that Laci tromped all over Rox.

My father and Peggy were sealed in the temple on May 9th and we had a picnic after the ceramony. I wanted to take a bunch of pictures of everyone but my battery died. I did get some of my favorite people though.

OH! how cute she is when she is sleeping. Laci has been a great dog and doesn't cause too much trouble. We have been traveling a lot this last week and she has adapted to being in the kennel quickly.

On May 9th the activity day girls had a dinner with their mothers. It was a lot of fun. We played games and had Pork Barbacoa from Cafe' Rio for dinner. One of the leaders used to work for Cafe' Rio and had a variation of the receipe for the pork and the tomatillo dressing. It was very yummy.

The Turtle Farm!!!

Its Turtle Farm day... This post is for you Allyson. I saw a ton of big and little Harley's today. I was able to hold and feed them. It was so much fun. Some of the turtle's were over 4.5 feet long.

This turtle kept spitting water out its nose trying to get me to feed it the turtle food we bought. The food looked like purina dog food.

The turtles pictured below are on the endangered species list and are some of the oldest know species alive today.

Can you find the Iguana

This is Seven Mile Beach. It really does stretch out for seven miles. I walked about 4 of them today. Its really nice.

I noticed this Iguana playing around in a hedge. Can you find it? It was about 3 feet long. They are all over the place here.

Newest Edition To the Family

We now have a new edition to the family. She is 7 weeks old and her name is Lacey. I think that is how we're going to spell it. She is a lot of fun!

I made it alive!!! Grand Cayman Day one

Well it was a really uneventful trip to Grand Cayman. I got on the plane in Las Vegas at 10:05 pm which is the red eye. I arrived in New York at 5:25 am and had a lay over until 9:25. I was so tired. The plane from New York ended up being grounded for over two hours so we didn't end up leaving until after 11:30 est. They made us sit on the plane the entire time so it ended up being almost six hours. When I finally got into the airport, a couple of students were there to pick me and we went to my apartment in the Residence Hall. Its not too bad. My roomate is from Texas and is going to the Vet school here. His family is here with him and they took us out to dinner at the Warf which is located right on the beach. I had the Agulha (Swordfish). They made it island style, which is a little spicy with sauteed onions, peppers and mushrooms. It was served over rice and steamed vegetables. Probably the best fish I have ever had.

It was fun to watch the sun go down and see the pirate ships giving tours.

They also fee the Tarpons from the resturant. They are anywhere from 3 ft to 6 feet in length.

We hiked Angels Landing today!!!

Today Laura and I decided to hike Angel's Landing in Zion's. It was a pretty good little hike. Its only 2.5 miles to the top but it goes up over 1,000 ft. There are places along the trail where they provide chains to hold onto so you don't fall off the edge. There are a few places like "Chicken Out Ridge" on Mt. Borah where it drops down on both sides. You can see the ridge you hike on the left of the picture. Tomorrows adventure is the Grand Canyon!!!

On our way home from Twin Falls we stopped in Burley to go to the bathroom (for Laura). As I was walking out of the bathroom I noticed that they had a dispenser for cologne on the wall. Since I hadn't showered that day I figured I might need some so I looked at the different brands. I was suprised to see very updated smells, like Polo sport, Romance and a couple of other. I thought a quarter was a great deal so I didn't hesistant putting my quarter to get a little bottle sample. Oddly enough no bottle came out of the machine...It sprayed out the front instead, all over my jacket. Not really a good deal anymore. I stunk all the way home.

Dad's Toe Nails

This weekend we decided to eat lunch and the Pita Pit. While we were sitting around eating I happened to look down and notice dad had a nail sticking through his shoe. I guess he didn't notice. Just the day before we talked about getting tetanus shots because of the dangers at the office. He said that he hadn't had one for a long time and acted like he wasn't going to get one. Now maybe he better reconsider...lol.
